Information Communique from the State Hermitage Museum: On 16 April 2008, the Press Service released the following information: The State Hermitage Museum announces: The State Hermitage Museum has no documentation whatsoever concerning the supposed complaint concerning the closure of museum halls. It is clear that this is a spring attempt to discredit the very idea of civil suits in the area of our cultural heritage. The legislation of the Russian Federation does not have any norms for regulating the make up of permanent exhibitions in the museums. The opening and closure of exhibition halls in the State Hermitage Museum, as well as in other museums is determined by the administration responsible for the general framework of the permanent exhibitions, repair work and exhibition preparation, as well as the presence of museum visitors. Information on the closure of halls is daily updated in the navigation kiosks at the State Hermitage Museum. Information concerning repairs in the museum is also on the official site for Government Procurements. |
