Closing of the season at the Hermitage Friends Club

On 4 June 2008, there was the final event of the season 2007-2008 of the Hermitage Friends Club entitled Courtyards of the General Staff.

The Hermitage Friends Club is one of the museum’s special development programs. It provides support to numerous projects involving restoration and reconstruction, educational and research projects, as well as programs to acquire new exhibit items. The Club brings together individual and corporate members. It includes both Russian citizens and citizens of foreign countries. The State Hermitage regularly organizes special events for members of the Club, including advance viewing of temporary exhibitions, meetings with curators, special visits to branches of the museum and musical evenings.

Director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky greeted the Friends.

The program of the gathering included:

- A talk by Alexander Dydyckin, head of department of general staff building, on the reconstruction of the left wing of the General Staff building, followed by the visit to the courtyards.

We encourage everyone who is not yet a member of the Hermitage Friends’ Club to do so by joining before the event, which will provide your participation in all the exclusive events for the members of the Hermitage Friends’ Club only.
