8th International Festival of Music of the Great Hermitage

On 7 July 2008, the Hermitage Theatre welcomed journalists to a presentation on the forthcoming 8th International Festival of Music of the Great Hermitage that will take place on 7 and 8 July 2008.

The 8th International Festival of Music of the Great Hermitage has been organized by the Hermitage museum and the Hermitage Academy of Music with the support of the Committee on Culture of the Government of St Petersburg.

Finding its feet, the musical festivals of the State Hermitage Museum are constantly broadening the genres and styles of its activities. Following the Musical Hermitage Winter Festival, which has taken up the entire palette of musical genres from the baroque to the latest waves in jazz and ethno-fusion, the summer festival, Music of the Greater Hermitage will this time present legendary musicians from world music, jazz and art rock.

7 July the VIII International Festival Music of the Greater Hermitage will present the legendary group Huun-Huur-Tu.
8 July according to the tradition which has already been established - the Grand Courtyard of the Winter Palace is to be filled with the sounds of contemporary jazz, performed by legendary musicians. This year Bill Bruford and Tim Garland will play together with Andrei Kondakov, Andrei Svetlov, and David Fiuczynski.
