How to connect two documents 29 July 2008, in the Hermitage Theatre Round Table "Monuments of UNESCO" and "Strategy of preservation of cultural heritage" took place. How to connect two documents". There the following persons were presented: Director of the Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, Chairman of Board of Directors of the Worldwide Club of Petersburgers Valentina Orlova, Chairman of Committee on State Use and Protection of Monuments Vera Dementieva, President of the news agency "Interfax North-West" Lyudmila Fomitchyova, President of the Union of Architects of St.-Petersburg Vladimir Popov, Director of the St Petersburg State University’s Institute of the Arts Ivan Uralov, Rector of the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts Albert Charkin, professor of the Saint-Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering Leonid Lavrov, Chief of LLC Architectural Workshop " Studio 44 " Nikita Yavejn. The State Hermitage, Committee on State Use and Protection of Monuments of the St.-Petersburg Administration and the Worldwide Club of Petersburgers which permanent chairman is Director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky became initiators of the meeting. The round table devoted to problems of cultural heritage, questions of protection of monuments of Petersburg and conformity of requirements of UNESCO and city "Strategy of preservation of cultural heritage" has convoke in the Hermitage representatives of various state and public organizations, journalists and representatives of Petersburg intelligency. As Director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky has noted: "There are many disputes on the document on the basis of which our city was included into the World Heritage List. Everyone knows that it has been made a long time ago, it has been done hastily, many things there are not exact. The document should be finished, it is difficult for using. On the other hand we have a fine strategy of preservation of heritage. They should be connected". |
