11 December, 2008, a master class "The Art of Design" was given in the Youth Educational Centre of the State Hermitage.

Repeat finalists of international competitions in the field of television design - the head artist of the television channel "Rossiya" Sergey Ilyin, the leading designer of the channel Anna Ershova and the computer graphic artist of the channel Mikhail Knyazev - shared with St. Petersburg students their creative experience, secrets of some techniques applied in photography, television graphics and computer animation .

Based on the examples of identification bumpers "Russia's Space" and some other video installations the artists told the youth how designers work, what influenced the origination of such strictly modern phenomenon as television design and how ideas are realised in the course of time and in the decoration of television space. In the course of the master class the young people were offered to try creation of their own design projects and a video clip.

From 13 till 21 December, during one week, the project by Sergey Ilyin "Russia Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, or the Symbols of the Previous Epoch" will be exposed in the exhibition hall of the Youth Educational Centre. A video installation "The Kremlin Star", "The Two-Headed Eagles, the New Russia's Sovereign Significance", as well as a series of photographs and a video installation "The Worker and the Kolkhoz Woman" are displayed at the exhibition. These exhibits will not only provide an opportunity of becoming closer familiar with the phenomenon of television design, but will also remind of the Russian State symbols in general.
