IV Festival of children's museum programs "Children's days in Petersburg"

At the time of autumn school vacations of 2008, the IV Festival of children's museum programs "Children's days in Petersburg" has taken place.

The State Hermitage traditionally takes its participation in the main program of this festival, i. e. in the game-travel "one-two-three-four-five - I go to seek!", which is the partners' project of twenty museums. In festival days, visitors with children free of charge receive in museums thematic "itinerary lists" with assigns, drawings, comments. The main game purpose is to create cause for some creative intercourse being family and friendly. At this year, itineraries under devise "Tasty knowledge" for different age children have received names of fruits and berries. The Hermitage "School center" collaborators have worked out the "blackberry" itinerary for children of 13-15 years old. This year game topic "In the high light" has proposed a travel around one, the most "speaking" exhibit. The plafond "Olympus" of the Winter palace Grand Ambassadorial Staircase has got into the Hermitage itinerary center of attention.

Children's jury being formed from members of the Club of festival friends evaluates museum itineraries of the game-travel "one-two-three-four-five - I go to seek!". Children's jury experts (in age from 5 to 15 years old) have visited museums and filled in expert cards evaluating interest, lucidity and usefulness of proposed itineraries as well as the museum hospitality.

Mikhail Borisovich Piotrovsky is traditionally the Children's jury honorary chairman. On November 17, the meeting has taken place at the State Hermitage where youthful experts and Mikhail Borisovich have discussed impressions and came to a decision concerning to winners in each from five age-specific nominations.


Children's jury prizes have received the following nominees:

The best museum itinerary for children of 5 - 7 years old "World-wide secrets":
Saint-Petersburg zoological garden.

The best museum itinerary for children of 8 - 12 years old "This stop, what is it?":
The A.S. Popov Central communication museum.

The best museum itinerary for children of 9 - 11 years old "Four elements so and so":
The State museum of Saint-Petersburg history.

The best museum itinerary for children of 11 - 13 years old "How can one survive on a desert island?":
The S. M. Kirov museum-flat (a subsidiary of the State museum of Saint-Petersburg history).

The best museum itinerary for children of 13 - 15 years old "Museum investigations in five series":
The museum "Narvskaya outpost".


Audience choice awards of Children's jury have been received the following museums:

The Peter Grand Museum of anthropology and ethnography (the cabinet of curiosities) of the RAS and the State Hermitage.

For the first time, in frames of the festival, the contest of author's children's guidebooks "My museum itinerary" has been performed. One has proposed to children and teenagers from 5 to 15 years old to create and to form without assistance an itinerary list on one of museums participating in the festival. One has recognized as the best Lena Tikhonova's itinerary along the Hermitage stage hall (this author's age is 7 years old). On December 27, 2008, the guidebook edition will be passed to the Hermitage "School center". The contest "My museum itinerary" will be continued in frames of the V festival.
