Signing of General Agreement between the State Hermitage and the State-owned Corporation on Atomic Energy The Russian Federal Atomic Energy Agency

29 July, 2009 in Moscow Director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky and Director General of the State-owned Corporation on Atomic Energy The Russian Federal Atomic Energy Agency Agency Sergey Kirienko signed General Agreement on conditions of preparation and realization of joint programmes.

The parties assume joint participation in the development and realization of cultural and educational programmes in the regions of Russia that can possibly comprise inclusion of exhibition, academic and educational, educational and other cultural and educational projects aimed at adult as well as children and youth audiences.

Along with exhibitions from the collection of the State Hermitage and other possible exhibition projects lectures, seminars, conferences, round-table discussions, creative meetings, festivals, concerts and performances of music bands and theatre companies, special projects for journalists and studying youth, publication of popular scientific, also including electronic, publications may be included in the programmes. During realization of the projects it is planned to widely use both traditional and new forms of work.

The parties shall promote activation of cultural and educational activities addressed to the employees of atomic branch enterprises for whom it is also planned to include special projects and creative connections between employees of the State Hermitage and institutions of culture, located in the territory of atomic branch units, into the programme.

Intentions of parties for better and wider familiarization of the public with programmes that are being prepared and realized and active cooperation with mass media are emphasized in the Agreement.

Within the framework of preparation of the cooperation programme between the State Hermitage and the State-owned Corporation on Atomic Energy The Russian Federal Atomic Energy Agency Agency WHY - World Heritage & Youth pilot cultural and educational programme for volunteers of The Russian Federal Atomic Energy Agency Agency together with the State Hermitage Volunteer Service is carried out from July 15th until July 29th, 2009. Participants’ selection was organized by The Russian Federal Atomic Energy Agency Agency in the regions of Russia where the corporation is presented.

The programme provides introduction of the Hermitage volunteers work, organization of round-table discussion, master classes, meetings with museum administration, restorers, and visits of cultural heritage monuments and museums of St Petersburg.
