The completion of the works on the project The System of Videomonitoring, Access Control and Fire Safety of the Menshikov Palace of the State Hermitage Museum

18 February, 2009 a ceremony devoted to the handing-over of the system of videomonitoring, access control and fire safety of the Menshikov Palace took place. The St. Petersburg Investment and Building Projects Fund and LLC ARMO-SPb, management and specialists of the State Hermitage Museum were fully satisfied with the results of the collaboration.

The project was completed according to the grant financing contract made between the St. Petersburg Investment and Building Projects Fund and the State Hermitage Museum. This became possible by virtue of the Culture Support Investment Fund of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development which provided a grant for conduction of the works on purchase, fabrication and commissioning of the security and fire safety systems for the Palace of St. Petersburg’s first governor.

Within the limits of co-financing the renovation of the central console room was conducted by the State Hermitage Museum.

The completion of the project allowed to raise significantly the security level of the visitors, the museum building and the museum treasures. Receiving information about an emerging fire on the early stages, rational organization of evacuation, controlling situation not only within the museum building but also on its premises are just a few from the benefits which are possible to gain for the Menshikov Palace due to such a successful collaboration.
