informs about the publication of the photographs of 12 exhibits
that have been on the wanted list since summer, 2006
Icon of the Virgin of Kazan

Icon on panel with a depiction of The Virgin
of Kazan in silver solid setting decorated with multi-coloured
cloisonne with flower ornament, with the same halo with a crown
and crescent collar; in the corners there are plates in the form
of tulips; the back side is upholstered in crimson
velvet. On the setting there are four identifying marks:
"ÂÑ", "ÀÀ/1894", "84" and the coat
of arms of Moscow

Preservation: enamel is damaged, worn; two plates are missing from the angles,
crescent collar’s pendants are detached; ears of the two pendants
are missing.
