The State Hermitage informs

14 October 2009, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation issued an order stating that the rights to the day-to-day management of the Alexander Column being the state property (architect: Auguste Montferrand; Sculptors: Boris Orlovsky, Ivan Leppe, Piotr Svintsov, painter: Giovanni Batista Scotti) would be transferred to the State Hermitage.

This Order is issued in accordance with Federal Law as of May 16, 1996 No. 54-FZ "On the Museum Deposits of the Russian Federation and Museums in the Russian Federation" and the Provision on the Museum Deposits of the Russian Federation approved by the Enactment of the Government of the Russian Federation as of February 12, 1998.
