The Classics Days-2009 Festival

22-25 April 2009, the State Hermitage Museum opened its doors for everybody to whom the world of Classics is close. For the fourth time the luxurious interiors of the New Hermitage turned into a unique creative space filled with colours, sounds and the spirit of Classics.

Young talents revived the world of Classics with their creativity and introduced to the audience the images of the Antiquity honoured by everybody but in the new performances.

The world of the Classics is filled with myths and legends of the Antiquity, bright ideas of the gone epochs and aesthetic ideals upon which our modern life is based. In the antique interiors of the Museum contests, defiles, actions and concerts took place. Their goal was to carry the bright ideas of Classics to those who wish for it. Students, pupils and the youngest artists had an opportunity to realize their creative potential and to direct the energy for the creation of their own World of Classics.

The Festival consisted of various events each of which was intended for a certain generation which perceives Classics in its own way.

On April 22nd Classics Days opened a jewellery making Master-class, Labyrinth mind game, The World of Classics in colours drawing contest and The World of Classics in sounds action.

On April 23rd the Festival went on with sculpture molding Master-class (A. Fumelli), Labyrinth mind game, The World of Classics in sounds action and The World of Classics in colours drawing contest.

On April 24th the Gods and Heroes contest and the Classics without boundaries conference took place.

On April 25th The World of Classics in sounds action and the Labyrinth mind game took place.

On the same day in the Hermitage Theatre the results of the Festival were summed up and the winners were awarded.

The organizers of the Festival are the State Hermitage Museum and LLC Likeon - Museum Concepts and Projects.
