28 April 2010 V. Matvienko, Governor of Saint Petersburg, visited the Art Restoration and Storage Center Staraya Derevnya.

Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage, reported to Valentina Matvienko, on the results and new plans of construction of the Repository.

Governor of Saint Petersburg examined the Laboratory of Scientific Restoration of Easel Painting, the Repository of Fresco Paintings and Icons, the Repository of Paintings and the Repository of Furniture (Department of the History of Russian culture); the Repository of Sculpture (Department of Western European Visual Art), the Repository of Donations (Department of the East).

Valentina Matvienko was shown the System of Access Control and the Central Video Monitoring Contol.

At the end of the visit to the Art Restoration and Storage Center the Governor visited the Horse Stable Museum where she was demonstrated the features of the dynamic illumination system, a system unique to Russian museums specially designed for this exhibition facility by Philips.
