Transfer of cultural valuables to Saint Petersburg museums

28 April 2010 a ceremony of transferring cultural valuables to Saint Petersburg museum was held at the Hermitage Theater. The ceremony was attended by V. Petrakov, Head of the Department of conservation of cultural valuable of the Federal Agency for supervising the observance of laws in the field of protection of cultural heritage (Rosokhrancultura).

To the State Hermitage for the Museum of the Guards donated from France were the uniform coat of the colonel of the Life Guards of the Kirasirsky regiment and B. Tretiakov’s archive documents; an album with photographs of an earthquake in Medina with the Hermitage’s ex-libris presented by an antiquarian I. Pugachev to the state; as well as returned were the Kazanskaya icon of the Mother of God and a pendant depicting Peter stolen from the museum.

To the State Museum of the History of Saint Petersburg transferred was the Certificate of Alexander III to Emile Thelander, engineer of the Motala plant in Sweden, of granting an order of Saint Anna of the 3rd degree, the gift of I. Pugachev to the state.

To the Central Naval Museum transferred were five drawings of the ships Russia, Fershampenuaz, Empress Alexandra which were stolen from the museum of the Naval Engineering Institute.

In the course of the ceremony V. Petrakov presented the Catalogue of artifacts, antiques and rare books on the wanted list (Part 5) issued by the Federal Agency for supervising the observance of laws in the field of protection of cultural heritage (Rosokhrancultura).
