Opening of the Hermitage-Vyborg Exhibition Center

16 June, 2010 opening of a new State Hermitage Exhibition Center was held in Vyborg. The Hermitage-Vyborg Center has become the second permanent representation of the museum in Russia after the Kazan Center.

The press-conference with participation of Director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, Governor of the Leningrad Region Valery Serdyukov, Governor Advisor of the Leningrad Region Georgy Poryadin, Head of the Municipal Unit Vyborg District of the Leningrad Region Gennady Orlov was devoted to this event.

The formal opening of the center was marked with the exhibition from the collection of the State Hermitage Catherine the Great, as well as a small independent exhibition The Northern War. Capture of Vyborg by Russian Troops in 1710.

The ceremony was accompanied with the performance of the Admiralty Orchestra of the Leningrad Naval Base headed by Valentin Lyashchenko.
