Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the State Hermitage

19 June 2010 a meeting of the museums’ Board of Trustees was hosted at the State Hermitage with a new membership. Vladimir Potanin, Interros President, was again elected the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the State Hermitage.

The Hermitage’s budget was adopted. Measures for maintaining the museum’s autonomous development were discussed. Among the main topics of the meeting, the endowment creation, shall become the most essential objective to be accomplished by the Board of Trustees.

The principal action plan for arranging the Hermitage’s 250th anniversary was approved. Below are the primary objectives:

• completing the restoration of the Eastern Wing of the General Staff Building and founding the Museum of the 19th-21st centuries there,
• completing the second phase construction and beginning works on building the third phase of the Staraya Derevnya Restoration and Storage Center,
• restoration of the Reserve Palace and antique halls of the New Hermitage,
• beginning the foundation of the Museum of the Guards at the Palace Square and the Russian State Symbols Museum in the building of the Exchange House at the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island,
• completing the implementation of the collection management computer system,
• creating the printed and electronic encyclopedia of the Hermitage.
