14 April 2010 a meeting of members of Saint Petersburg’s English Club was held at Art Restoration and Storage Center in Staraya Derevnya.

Guests were received by M. Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage.

After the director’s opening speech the club’s members were shown a Route of the storage open to public where guests saw storage facilities with state-of-the-art equipment that have become a reference modern approach to storing artifacts.

Honored guests were greatly impressed by a parade tent, the so called Theater of Tapestries, presented to Catherine II by a Turkish sultan, furniture repositories of extraordinary design and, of course, the Horse Stable Museum, a repository of carriages recently equipped with the latest light equipment presented to the Hermitage by Philips.
