Election of Director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky as a General Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts

In May 2010 Director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky was elected as a General Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.

The Academy was established in 1990. It is located in Salzburg and it is a transnational multi-subject institution. The Academy consists of more than 1,200 members with 27 Nobel Prize winners among them.

The European Academy of Sciences and Arts is divided into 7 classes: humanitarian, medical, arts, natural sciences, social sciences, engineering sciences and world religions.

Election of Mikhail Piotrovsky as a General Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts is recognition of his achievements in the field of historic and philosophic sciences.
