Hermitage Assembles Friends. Festival for Children with Health Problems 20 May, 2010 the State Hermitage jointly with the Charitable Social Organization of Aid to Handicapped Children Umka carried out a charitable action entitled The Hermitage Assembles Friends for children of different age and young people with health problems. Permanent participants of the action The Hermitage Assembles Friends are children from such institutions as: Hospice, correctional school Ozerki, sanatorium Solnechnoye, boarding school Krasnye Zori. The first part of the festival included excursions around the museum. Members of the Hermitage School Center have worked out the program of excursions for the permanent participants of these annual festivals so that excursions do not repeat and children can see new exhibitions each time. This time members of the Scientific Education Department introduced the art of the Ancient World and the Renaissance to the guests. General excursions were conducted for groups from League of Handicapped and health center Child Psychiatry participating in the action for the first time. It is important to note the interest and attention with which the children listen and accept the excursions, their response and gratitude to the guides working with them informally and with total efficiency. The second part of the festival is a concert in the Hermitage Theater. Ballet dancers of the Mariinsky Theater and graduates of the Vaganova Ballet Academy appeared in a remarkable program combining classical and modern dances. The spectators applauded heatedly and accompanied the most favorite dances crying "Bravo!"
