Cultural-educational program World Heritage & Youth

2 August 2010 the presentation of projects within the World Heritage & Youth program (WHY 2010) took place.

The program participants of the Hermitage’s Volunteer Service, with students from more than ten Russian cities, presented their projects dedicated to the role of cultural heritage for youth.

The program’s implementation became a possibility due to the cooperation of the State Hermitage with the Rosatom State Corporation. It is the second consecutive year that the best students from Rosatom’s closed administrative-territorial formations, having passed through special competitive selection, visit the Hermitage and participate in the programs of the museum’s Volunteer Service.

For two weeks young people were getting familiar with the museum, working in the museum’s various departments, participating in archeological excavations, meeting specialists in the field of the preservation of cultural heritage, participating in discussions along with students of art and architectural higher educational institutions of St Petersburg.
