The visit of Prince Philippe of Belgium and his spouse Princess Mathilde to the Hermitage

On 7 April 2011 the State Hermitage was visited by His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium and Princess Mathilde.

Director of the Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky showed the collection of the world-famous museum to the distinguished guests.

In the evening of the same day at a reception Prince Philip awarded M. Piotrovsky with the Order of the Crown.

The Order of the Crown was established in 1897 and is awarded for accomplishments to the Belgian State in the artistic, cultural or scientific field.
