Meeting of M. B. Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage, with M. Sh. Shaimiev, State Counselor of Tatarstan Republic

On 9 February 2011 Mintimer Shaimiev, State Counselor of Tatarstan Republic, received Director of the State Hermitage Museum Mikhail Piotrovsky in the Kazan Kremlin.

M. Shaimiev thanked M. Piotrovsky for his attention to Tatarstan and support of the project "Cultural heritage of Tatarstan: ancient city of Bolghar and island-city Sviyazhsk", reviewed the results of the first ten years of the Republican Fund of Revival of Historic and Cultural Monuments that has the Hermitage Director as one of the members of its Board of Guardians.

The issues discussed at the meeting also included the future cultural projects of the State Hermitage Museum in the center Hermitage-Kazan, in particular, the exhibition of art weapon. Mikhail Borisovich Piotrovsky invited Mintimer Sharipovich Shaimiev to visit the exhibition’s opening ceremony on 10 February 2011.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Republic and Minister of Culture of Tatarstan Republic Zilya Valeeva, President of Tatarstan Republic Academy of Science Akhmet Mazgarov, Director of Kazan Kremlin State Museum and Historical Park Pamil Khairutdinov.
