The 16th Russian Numismatic Conference

On 18 April 2011 an opening of the 16th Russian Numismatic Conference (RNC) was held at the Hermitage Theater.

A range of topics for discussion during the conference, which lasted for a week, is traditionally wide: Ancient, Byzantine, Western, Eastern and Russian numismatics, the art of medals, faleristics, bonistics, and the history of numismatic science.

Numismatists carefully keep and maintain scientific relations, and with each passing year the number of participants is increasing. In 2011, the conference is attended by specialists from St Petersburg, Moscow and many Russian cities, as well as from Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Belgium, and Greece.

By the opening of RNC, the Hermitage issued a collection of theses and reports, and the St Petersburg Mint coined a memorable token.
