Ninth North West Media Forum SEZAM-2011

On 27th and 28th October 2011 the Ninth North West Media Forum was held at the State Hermitage in the Eastern Wing of the General Staff Building. The Forum was attended by more than 400 people; heads of national and regional media organisations, media associations, representatives from federal subject authorities, members of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, representatives from business and public groups and student organisations.

The Forum was opened with speeches from the Presidential Envoy to the North Western Federal District Nikolay Vinnichenko, the Governor of Saint Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Vadim Tyulpanov, Director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of Saint Petersburg ITAR-TASS Bureau Boris Petrov and president of the National Association of Broadcasters Eduard Sagalaev.

The new social and communicative outlines of the North West’s information space were discussed at the Forum.

More than 100 heads from the leading regional and national media organisations took part in the discussions.

The best achievements in the media were presented at the Media Atlas of the North West exhibition. One of the Forum’s main events was the awards ceremony for the creative journalism competition SEZAM-2011 where prizes were presented by the Governor of Saint Petersburg.
