Yulia Kantor, counsellor of the Hermitage Director, taught a practical course at Minsk State Linguistic University

From 14 to 16 February 2011 counsellor of the Hermitage Director Yulia Kantor, invited by the university rector professor N. P. Baranova, taught students of Minsk State Linguistic University a practical course The Hermitage as Encyclopedia of the Russian Political History.

The course was attended by more than 500 students and faculty of Minsk State Linguistic University, Belarusian State University and Minsk University of Culture.

This first experience of a practical course on a comprehensive historical and cultural subject was equally interesting to all arts students and aroused keen interest of the students, the majority of whom had never been to the Hermitage, in the museum, the university’s rector Natalia Baranova said.

At the end of the course Yulia Kantor was given a scroll of six meters tied with a ribbon of the colours of the Byelorussia’s flag decorated with the university’s emblem print; the scroll - Message to the Hermitage - contained comments of the students who had listened to the story of "the great history of the great museum".
