New Weekend Program Guests from Prado

Scientific and methodological department School Center offered a new museum weekend program Guests from Prado to children of primary school age.

First lessons were held on 17 and 24 April. At first children prepared to watch a temporary exhibition, having listened to a short lecture about Prado Museum, history of its collection formation, the most outstanding masterpieces, kept in the museum and the pictures which have been brought to the Hermitage.

Route lists with color pictures and information on the exhibit items, tasks and a crossword were given to little visitors. Parents and children carried out tasks together, guided by the route lists and observed the temporary exhibition.

Emotional charge, received from observation of pictures of Titian, Rubens, El Greco, Velasquez, Murillo helped children to create their own ceremonial portrait when in the end they were invited into the studio and offered to work with brushes and paints.
