Social Adaptation of Minors: Innovative Approaches in Education Round Table On 26 June 2012, at the Staraya Derevnya Restoration and Storage Centre of the State Hermitage Museum, a round table was held on Social Adaptation for Minors: Innovative Approaches in Education. The round table was organised by the State Hermitage Museum and Heineken. O.V. Erlikh, Head of the Institute of Psychological-Teaching Education at the St. Petersburg Academy of Post-Graduate Education , А.Yu. Meleshina, Heineken’s director of corporate relations , V.Yu. Matveev, Deputy Director of the State Hermitage Museum, M.M. Pevzner, one of the founders of the Harmony Institute for Psychotherapy and Counseling , E.V. Machnev, General Director of the Unity in Diversity company and A.E. Terenteva, Deputy Head of the Staraya Derevnya Restoration and Storage Centre, all delivered special messages at the Round Table. Specialists from the Committee on Education, the K.K. Grot Corrective School No. 1, Orphanage Boarding School No. 2, schools nos. 643, 489, 508, the Nevsky District Administration Education Department also participated in the discussions. Questions concerning children’s development, their independence and responsibility were discussed, along with the role of adults (parents, teachers, officials, social and commercial organisations) in the formation of children’s cultural environment and position in life. The State Hermitage Museum runs the Past at One’s Fingertips programme for blind and visually impaired children while Heineken’s Russian programme I’ll Look After You was created in collaboration with the Harmony Institute for treating alcohol abuse by minors.
