A joint charitable event by the State Hermitage Museum and the Anima Teachers’ Initiative Center

On April 15th, 2012, the State Hermitage Museum held a traditional charitable event entitled I Love the Halls of the Hermitage organized by the Anima Teachers’ Initiative Center, the School Center, the Scientific and Educational Department and the Educational and Theatre Department of the Hermitage for two hundred children, teens and youth with health issues and their parents.

This celebration in the Hermitage Theatre brought the museum’s annual cycle of work with the Anima Teachers’ Initiative Center. The 2012 Program, called I Love the Halls of the Hermitage included classes in various halls of the Museum, from the art of the ancient world all the way to 19th Century French Painting. The participants in the program could select whatever subject interested them most. One particularly interesting event were the tours dedicated to the anniversary of the Patriotic War of 1812, which were led by Hermitage employees who specialize in the field.

The charitable event that brought the program to a close began with greetings from the Head of School Center Scientific and Methodical Department, I.V. Dyubanova. Participants in the M.I. Glinka Children’s Art School presented a concert entitled Miracles Begin! Stage productions, dance numbers, classical and popular music performed by participants in the school’s theatre, choreography and musical departments were brought together by the theme of a tour through the Hermitage, which the master of ceremonies playfully "led." One special number consisted of choreographic compositions based on Matisse’ paintings Music and Dance. After the concert, the director of the Teachers’ Initiative Center, A.A. Ivanov, thanked the employees of every department of the Hermitage that took part in preparing and holding this event.
