A visit by the General Director of the State Hermitage Museum, M.B.Piotrovsky, to Kazan

On 28 February, 2013, the General Director of the State Hermitage Museum, M.B. Piotrovsky and the President of the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, M.Kh. Salakhov, signed a memorandum of partnership.

This memorandum defines the primary areas of partnership and forms of cooperation between the parties. The primary areas of cooperation are joint scientific research in the area of oriental studies, mutual consulting, the publishing of scientific literature, holding conferences, organizing instructional training and internships for students and scientific/pedagogical staff.

Later on, M.B. Piotrovsky held a lecture entitled “Graffiti at Tahrir Square” at the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations of Kazan Federal University.

On the same day, the Hermitage Centre hosted a presentation of a new State Hermitage Museum entitled HermitageLine conducted with the support of OAO AIKB Tatfondbank, in which the Director of the Kazan Kremlin State Historical, Architectural and Artistic Museum-Conservation Area, Z.R. Valeeva, the General Director of the State Hermitage Museum, M.B. Piotrovsky, the President of OAO AIKB Tatfondbank, I.A. Mingazetdinov, and the Manager of the Saint Petersburg branch of Tatfondbank, R.G. Bakirov, participated.
