Press conference dedicated to the 100-year anniversary of the birth of Anna Zelenova

On February 27th, 2013 a press conference dedicated to the 100-year anniversary of Anna Ivanovna Zelenova, the Director of the Pavlovsk Palace-Museum and Park from 1941-1979 was held.

Anna Ivanovna Zelenova was the head of the palace-museum for many years; in the difficult war years, she was responsible for the evacuation of museum pieces, and that she managed an unprecedented program of extensive scientific restoration of the Pavlovsk palace/park ensemble. This program was later applied during the restoration of other jewels of the suburbs of Leningrad.

The participants in the press conference honoured the memory of Anna Ivanovna Zelenova, and conducted an extensive program of ceremonies dedicated to the anniversary of the birth of the legendary museum director.

The participants in the press conference included Mikhail Borisovich Piotrovsky, the General Director of the State Hermitage Museum, the President of the Union of Museums of Russia, Vera Anatolyevna Dementyeva, the Director of the Pavlovsk State Museum and Conservation Area, Ivan Dmitrievich Shakhovskoy, the Head of the Department for the Popularization of cultural and historical sites of Committee on State Control, Use and Protection of Historical and Cultural Landmarks, Nikolai Vitalyevich Burov, Director of the Saint Isaac’s Cathedral State Museum Complex, Olga Sergeevna Khomova, the Director of the State Academic Capella of Saint Petersburg, Alexander Ivanovich Kuzmin, the Director of the A.V. Suvorov State Memorial Museum, the Chairman of the Saint Petersburg Branch of the Union of Museums of Russia, Yana Viktorovna Sedelnikova, the Head of the Department of Cultural/Historical Heritage of the Committee of Culture of Saint Petersburg.
