The round table “The Child and the Art of the Child at the Museum”
For the 55th Anniversary of Fine Arts Studio of the School Center of the State Hermitage

The participants of the meeting which was held on March 28, 2013 in the School Center of the State Hermitage were the museum educators and other museum workers of Saint Petersburg, which are engaged in the children’s programs. Nine museums (25 participants) participated in the round table. 13 reporters delivered their speeches.

The themes of the round table were rather broad and various. The conference participants shared their experiences of working with children of different ages, their achievements and problems related to the child’s creative activities at the museum, presented a diversity of actitivies in the halls and studios. At the meeting the important role of parents in the development of creative abilities of children and the need to bring them to the classes at the museum together with the children were emphasized, especially together with the children of the junior age.

The topic of museum classes with children, which have the speech and the behavior particularities, arouse the keen interest. The round table was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
