Conference Heraldry in the past, present and future

The participants of the conference devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Heraldry Seminar were addressed by the director of the State Hermitage Museum Mikhail Piotrovsky. The reports of the researchers of the Museum and of the leading specialists in heraldry from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tver and Udmurtia were devoted to the problems of development of heraldry as an auxiliary historical discipline. The topics touched upon during the conference covered a great period of time from the Middle Ages to the XXth century.
