Meeting with journalists from North-Western Russia

At the meeting, L. Aerov, head of the State Hermitage Press Service, and S. Filippov, head of the Hermitage Friends Club and a member of the Development Department, told journalists about joint projects of the State Hermitage and the Friends of the Hermitage Foundation in the Netherlands: children's programmes, joint exhibitions and restoration projects.

Among the most significant projects mention was made of the programmes "A New Roof and New Lighting for Rembrandt", "A New Roof and New Lighting for the Dutch Masters - 2000"; the exhibitions "Peter I and the Netherlands", "Catherine II" and "Earthly Beauty "Heavenly Art. The Art of Islam". The plans of the State Hermitage and the Friends of the Hermitage Foundation in the Netherlands include the restoration of the Hanging Garden and the Petrine Gallery of the Small Hermitage, the creation of a branch of the Hermitage in the historical building of the Amstelhof in Amsterdam and new joint exhibitions.
