Hermitage Acquires Title to Lomonosov Logo

On 7 April, 2002, the State Hermitage Museum concluded a sublicense agreement with Forecastle Limited holding exclusive title to the logo of the Lomonosov Porcelain Works. According to the agreement the Hermitage shall be entitled to use the Lomonosov logo without any charge. This means that the title passed from abroad back to Russia. The agreement was signed by the Hermitage Director Mikhail B. Piotrovsky and the company's representative lawyer A.A. Chernyayev.

For Forecastle Limited, this is the outcome of the efforts to prevent possible loss by Russia of the logo of the Lomonosov Porcelain Works. The State Hermitage Museum which according to an order of the Culture Ministry of the Russian Federation on 1 February, 2001, received in its possession the Lomonosov museum collection sees in the agreement a step towards a closer cooperation with the Porcelain Works including manufacturing of objects intended for museums.
