National Internet Prize

On 21 March, 2002, the ceremony of awarding 20 National Internet Prizes to Russian web-sites was held in Moscow. This year the Hermitage won the Prize for Fine Arts and Museums. The museum's web-site is the result of the long-term cooperation between the Hermitage and IBM Corporation. The project, founded five years ago, gives new results every year. In 2001 the museum's e-shop was opened, in 2002, preparation of a new Internet education program was started.

The National Internet Prize is the professional award of the Russian Internet Academy annually given for cultural achievements to web projects in Russian and other languages of Russia's peoples. The principal ideas of the National Internet Prize are to promote the Internet in Russia as the new medium of work and entertainment and advertise the best RuNet projects among the Russian and international users.
