Personalities from the Epoch of Peter I

On 20-21 November, 2001, the Menshikov Palace hosted a conference dedicated to the history, culture and art of the epoch of Peter I. Among the conference participants were specialists from the State Hermitage Museum. The themes under discussion were various aspects of the research of the history and architecture of the Menshikov Palace, the residence of prince Alexander D. Menshikov, the first governor of St. Petersburg. Presentations dealt with historical sources such as archive documents, literary works and historical descriptions which can show new aspects of Peter's time.

An organ concert was organized for the conference participants. Presentation abstracts are published in Petrovskoye vremya v litsakh - 2001 [Personalities from the Epoch of Peter I], St. Petersburg, 2001.
