Hermitage Delegation Takes Part in Opening Ceremony of Window to Europe Festival in Vyborg

On 9 August, 2002, the Hermitage delegation took part in the opening ceremony of the 10th Russian Film Festival Window to Europe in Vyborg. Film program of this forum was opened by the premiere of Aleksandr Sokurov's film Russian Ark. This work of Sokurov, created in December 2001, is unique because it was shot ''in one breath'', with one take without montage. The film is dedicated to the Hermitage, one of roles in it is played by Mikhail Piotrovsky. In May 2002 the film was presented at the Cannes International Festival.
