Concert of the Program ...only Mozart!

On 25 September, 2002, the Large Italian Skylight Hall, New Hermitage hosted an ...only Mozart! concert presented by the Hermitage Music Academy. The State Hermitage Orchestra conducted by Enrique Batiz Campbell, Mexico performed music of W.A. Mozart, Concert for flute and orchestra No. 2 D major, KV 314, Symphony No. 36 C major ("Linz"), KV 425.
G. Rossini (1792-1868) Overture from the opera "Il Barbiere di Siviglia".
Soloist Orest Severin (flute).

The exclamation ...only Mozart! was the Empress Catherine the Second's answer when she was asked who might be invited to her court to carry out the honorable mission of creating a Russian musical school. The program whose artistic director is Saulus Sondetskis has already presented several concerts. The first of them took place on 5 October, 1999, in the Alexander Hall of the Winter Palace. The Hermitage Orchestra St. Petersburg Camerata and the Glinka Academic Capella performed Mozart's Requiem.
