New Members of the Hermitage Friends Club

On 12 September 2001 eleven art-lovers from Japan who had visited the State Hermitage as part of a tourist group joined the Hermitage Friends Club.

In Japan, there is great interest in Russia, St. Petersburg and the Hermitage. Every year thousands of Japanese tourists visit the museum. Many of them express a desire to participate more actively in the life of the Hermitage and the preservation of its artistic treasures and become members of the Hermitage Friends Club.
