Concert of the Program ...only Mozart!

On 28 February, 2003, the Hermitage Music Academy Program presented a ...only Mozart! Concert of the State Hermitage Orchestra conducted by artistic director and chief conductor Saulus Sondetskis in the Pavilion Hall performed music of W.A. Mozart, Overture from Don Giovanni, Symphony No. 35 D major (Haffner), KV 385

The exclamation ...only Mozart! was the Empress Catherine the Second’s answer when she was asked who might be invited to her court to carry out the honorable mission of creating a Russian musical school. The program whose artistic director is Saulus Sondetskis has already presented several concerts. The first of them took place on 5 October, 1999, in the Alexander Hall of the Winter Palace. The Hermitage Orchestra St. Petersburg Camerata and the Glinka Academic Capella performed Mozart’s Requiem.
