Genoa at the Hermitage
Paintings and Drawings of the 16th-18th Centuries from Genoese Collections and the Hermitage

The exhibition opened on 12 November, 2002, in Rooms 28-32 of the Winter Palace is organized by the State Hermitage Museum jointly with the Municipality of Genoa, Palazzo Ducale and the Cristoforo Colombo Regional Foundation with participation of Palazzo Bianco, Palazzo Rosso and Banca Carige. The exhibition is patronized by the Foreign Ministry of the Italian Republic and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Italian Republic. This is the counterpart to the exhibition of Genoese paintings and drawings of the 16th-18th centuries from the Hermitage collection held in Genoa in spring and summer of 2002.

25 paintings from Genoese collections and 15 canvases from the Hermitage alongside 29 drawings from the Hermitage and the Cabinet of Drawings and Engravings of Palazzo Rosso represent the art of Genoa at its acme.

The Hermitage scholars in cooperation with their Italian colleagues prepared an illustrated catalogue printed in Italy.
