"For the Faith and Loyalty" The inauguration of the exhibition was held on 13 December, the Day of St Andrew the First Called, the saint patron of the Russian Guards. Since the early 19th century the symbol of the Russian Guards was St Andrew star with the order device For the Faith and Loyalty. The history of the Russian Imperial Guards since the date of its establishment in 1700 by Peter the Great is represented at the exhibition. The visitor can see nearly 700 items. These include uniforms, arms, standards and regiments regalia, paintings, drawings, decorative art articles, numismatic items and documents reflecting the brilliant and still dramatic history of the Imperial Guards. The exhibition is prepared by the State Hermitage Museum together with the State Artillery Museum, the State Naval Museum, the Memorial Museum of Alexander Suvorov, the State Russian Museum, the Museum Reserves "Tsarskoye Selo", "Peterhof" and "Pavlovsk".
