New Year Party for Special Children

On 26 December, 2002, the Hermitage Theater gave a New Year party for retarded children. Events for special children have become the Theater’s tradition. Kids from two schools of St. Petersburg are participants and guests of performances. The auditorium of three hundred seats was fully packed, as all students of these schools took part in the celebration. Each participant had his or her task: some performed, while others helped with scenery, conducted the show or took care of the youngest children in the auditorium.

New scenarios are created each year. This year the performance was called Our St. Petersburg to mark the city’s tercentenary in 2003.

All arts were engaged in the show: music, singing, dance, drama, poetry and painting. Using their costumes and acting, children presented an expressive image of our city from its foundation till the modern days. At the party’s end all children were given presents.

The celebration was sponsored by Baker&McKenzie which provided transport and gifts for the children.
