Meeting with Volunteers

On 6 June, 2003, Mikhail B. Piotrovsky, Director of the Hermitage, met volunteers to thank them for their contribution to the celebration of the St. Petersburg Tercentenary. 150 people who assisted the museum during ten days of the jubilee will continue their work till the end of the tourist season, through 31 August, 2003. Volunteers both took care of visitors and helped the museum staff to set up the exhibition Founder of St. Petersburg, dedicated to Peter I.

Participants in the meeting presented to the Director volunteer uniform — red T-shirt with cap, and put him on the list of volunteers under number 1.

Students from St. Petersburg and Moscow including members of the Hermitage Student Club took an active part in the volunteer activities.
