9. A three-sided bulla with a seal of an official named Lukala The third dynasty of Ur Umma (modern Jokha)
The inscription contains a list of sacrifices to Shara, the supreme god of the city of Umma, the deified kings Shulgi and Amar-Suena, Enlil, the supreme god of the entire Sumerian pantheon, the god Enki, the goddess Gula, and other gods that were worshipped in Umma. We can probably assume that this bulla sealed a store of documents about deliveries of cattle for sacrifice. Inside the hole, one can see the imprints of the string, to which the bulla was once attached. |
