5. An economic document in an envelope The third dynasty of Ur Puzrish-Dagan (modern Drehem)
An economic document in an envelope proving the transaction of two oxen and three cows from royal deliveries to a woman named Geme-Ninlila; on the surface of the envelope there is an impression of a cylinder seal depicting a woman before the king and an inscription: "Shulgi, a mighty man, king of Ur, the king of the four quarters of the world, to Geme-Ninlila, his beloved, gave (this seal)." Shulgi was the second and most famous king of the third dynasty of Ur. Geme-Ninlila is known as one of his concubines. |
