Mould-blown. The body is of five-layered glass: lilac, olive and light blue with pink and brown overcolours. Multi-plane etching, polishing. Chemical matting of the inner surface

The foot is of two-layered glass: red and transparent. Etching, metal foil insertions and glass inlay

Height: 63.5 cm; 17.7 x 9.5 cm. Diameter of foot: 16.6 cm

Entered in 1949 from the State Museum Fund

Relief signature etched on the base: Gallé. On the reverse the vase is engraved with a quotation: Pour tirer un soleil de nos coeurs, et pour faire || de nos pensees brulantes une tiède atmosphère || Baudelaire ("To extract a sun from our hearts and to heat the air with our ardent thoughts")
