This cylindrical piece was made of three-layered glass: yellow-green with clear and violet-brown. Its body takes the form of a stem of bamboo, against which background dahlia stems, leaves and flowers are depicted.
According to the 1909 inventory, the vase was then in in the Silver, or Louis XVI, Drawing-Room belonging to Alexandra Fiodorovna's apartments.
