Rhodonite

Rhodonite has a rich range of colour spanning pink, scarlet, crimson and deep blood red with black dendrites and veins of manganese hydroxides that make it especially attractive. The name of the stone comes from rhodon - the Greek for "rose".

High quality deposits of rhodonite are rare. One of the best is Malosidelnikovskoye in the central Urals.
