A field that repeats the shape of the vessel and is framed by ornament of floral garlands and rocailles contains a polychrome painting "in the style of Boucher". The term "in the style of Boucher" customarily used in auction catalogues for depictions of children on Sevres porcelain appeared about 1776, six years after Francois Boucher's death. |
