Gold decoration

Technical advances made in the last decades of the 18th century enabled the factory to create new effects on a black background of hard porcelain imitating Chinese lacquer. Principally new was the simultaneous use of gold and silver in the painting. Silver was very soon superseded by platinum which did not oxidize and gave a more attractive shine.
